Portrait of the Past - The Civil War in New Bern, North Carolina

The setting of the newest in this series is New Bern, the second oldest town in the state of North Carolina which was settled in 1710. Named for the city of Bern, Switzerland, the town is located on the triangle of land where the Neuse and Trent rivers meet.  Modern day residents of New Bern keep the history alive through a very strong and active historical society.  Robert and Drew have spend many hours engulfed in the hoards of information available by the generous residents.  Book signings and events are already in the works for the release of this most anticipated publication.

This children's book is being written by Robert Drapala and Christine Hughes with the talented E.M. Corsa of NC illustrating this fascinating tale of a boy and his imagination.  The hero and main character Bobby loves to draw and is amazed when his drawings come to life and he becomes part of their adventure.
